Preparing for the UEFA EURO 2016 in Paris

Dear football fans, we know you are all ardently preparing for the UEFA EURO 2016 in Paris and if you were lucky enough to be selected to buy a ticket, you should already start preparing your trip to the capital city of France!

Now, visiting Paris takes quite a bit of preparation, aside from the plane tickets which you probably already have prepared. Lodgings, travel details, schedules and Paris airport transfers are surely on your list as well – as they should be!

For those of you who still worry, months after the gruesome events of November 2015, Paris has reclaimed its enthusiasm and “joie de vivre”. These days, the city is preparing to host the 2016 UEFA event in the safest conditions.

The UEFA European Championship takes place every 4 years and is regarded as the most important football event on the Old Continent. This year, it will be hosted by France between the 10th of June and the 10th of July. During this eventful months, 24 football teams will compete for the most coveted cup.

This is not the first time France hosts this event. Actually, the inaugural tournament held in 1960 and the 1984 championship finals also took place in France. 1984 was a memorable year for French football for two reasons: hosting the European Championship and actually winning the contest! France also won in 2000 and is hoping to go for a third cup during this third event they host.

Paris is not the only city in France that will host the UEFA EURO 2016 matches. Other nine cities will welcome you: Bordeaux, Lyon, Lille, Lens, Nice, Saint-Etienne, Toulouse, Saint-Denis and the beautiful sunlit Marseille. Your trip will surely be an exciting one and the football event might prove to be an excellent opportunity to go on tour around the romantic French realm.
